Description:
Formed in February of 2002, Salvaged began turning heads wherever they went & were received by the public as a breath of fresh air. Real lyrics, strong melodies, & catchy hooks. Not to mention, a real-life show. Very upfront & personal. "We connect with our audience by being ourselves... we include our fans... we talk to them from the stage. We play our music FOR them, not to them." In February of 2003, the band set off to record their first full-length album "On the Brink of Existence", which was released in March of 2004. Right off the bat, the band had sold several hundred copies at shows & out of the trunks of their cars. "This was the first album that any of us had ever recorded... we're pleased with our first attempt & expect our next effort to be even better." Things were starting to take off really well, when an unexpected line-up had to occur. "We went 3 or 4 months of playing nearly every weekend & all of a sudden, Bill had some unknown personal issues to deal with & he left the band in June, 2004." With the decision of canceling shows or finishing what they started, the band chose to finish playing the last scheduled shows with fill-in drummers. Right away, the search began. A few drummers came & went, until Ben Wadle stepped up to the plate in August. "He caught onto the songs rather quickly & we started scheduling gigs right away." First gig with Ben, was late September at very successful gig at the Go-Kart Track. "Eight bands were there that day... it was like a big festival... gorgeous day & lots of people. It felts great to be out jammin' again." Unfinished business... MORE COMING SOON!!
Band Members:
MATT VAN DYNE-Guitar-Lead Vocals- The guitar fury & voice behind Salvaged, is Matt Van Dyne. Born & raised in Corydon, Iowa, Matt knows his surroundings. Whether tormenting the town in a fast car, or ripping on a guitar riff through a Marshall stack, Matt indulges himself in all things that rock. The outlet for his energy is Salvaged.
TIM LILLAND-Bass- The powerful bass lines of Tim Lilland, add the polished edges to the musically aggressive sound of Salvaged. Hailing from the small town of Estherville, Iowa, Tim knows his values. Musical influence is a major part of his everyday life. No Salvaged song would be complete without his passion.
Ben Wadle-drums- Straight off the streets of Knoxville Iowa, Ben received his first drum kit in 1998 from Jim Clark, the drummer from Salt Of Society. Having not been drumming for long, Ben, determined to learn percussion, spent long hours in his parents basement trying to learn his craft. After years of tremendous effort and a couple of early bands that never seemed to pick up pace, Ben Wadle joined Salvaged as their second drummer in August of 2004. With alot on his shoulders Ben quickly picked up the material. With Matt Vandyne and Tim Lilland there to support, Salvaged is an unstoppable machine that is determined to pave the road ahead.
