Description:
Powder Munki is a hard driving rock band, with a twist of Metal, Blues, and Funk. Named after the workers who blast cliffs in the Rocky Mountains, their music is likewise, explosive! Formed in 1999 from previous bands, Powder Munki has performed some truly spectacular shows!
Band Members:
Originating as a three piece in 1999, Powdermunki has since seen stints as a four and five piece band. Current members consist of: Pat Mauro on drums, Eric Frazee on Guitar/Bass, Lee Pelton on Bass/Guitar and Todd Durland on vocals.
Pat Mauro plays the drums with total passion and drive. With many influences both rock and jazz, he is always striving to create the newest, outstanding drum part, while always complimenting the song structure of the Powder Munki material! You will, undoubtably, know when Mr. Mauro is on the drums!!
Eric Frazee has returned to Powder Munki in his original role as Songwriter and Lead guitarist! Eric writes and plays like no other guitarist you've seen! He pulls his playing out from the heart and grabs your attention with the most blistering guitar antics to ever blast your ears!!
Lee Pelton was recruited during a gig PM played with his former band. His 5 string bass made the other members salivate. Lee also plays guitar within the Powder Munki fold, giving a new twist to add to the PM pallette! !
Todd Durland was drafted from the world of karaoke. His virtual limitless vocal range has given new life to the Munki originals and the new songs have continued to carry that Munki-attitude through the years!!
The latest line-up of Munki-junkies compliment each other from beginning to end and look to rock this boat for quite some time!! Just winning the Zippohotour in Colorado, Powder Munki is blasting their way in the truly original music scene!

July 14,2005-Dang, haven't posted an update on here for a while, so I thought I better fill everyone in! We've been quite busy in the last four months. After the show at the Gothic, we recorded the four new songs, now posted on the song page! The first four songs were done at RP Recording Studios here in Pine Junction! Bob Hockenberry is the owner/engineer, and the quality of the recording was outstanding! We then went in for another recording session at the Denver Public Schools Studio.(where we recorded all the older songs on the song page.) We weren't quite happy with those recordings, so we're now setting up to record five other songs at RP. We had a great gig at the Oriental Theater in May, we're waiting to hear results on the submission to the Warped battle of the bands, the Cabo Wabo battle, and the South Park Music Festival! We're also in the Sugarlight productions Battle on 7/31 at Cervante's. The new songs are coming out in a flurry, so stay tuned for a new, yet unnamed Powder Munki CD!
