Description:
The Yuma Jazz Company was originally formed for a concert series at St. Paul’s Cultural Center in 2002. The group moved on from there to present several successful concert series and perform at many public and private events. "Shades After Dark", the quintet’s debut album, was recorded in November of 2004, and has been reviewed positively by national publications and aired extensively on KAWC FM and KYMA TV. The YJC quintet continues to thoroughly enjoy playing together. This is due in part to the personalities of the musicians as well as the group’s ability to keep its music fresh by maintaining an improvization-centered philosophy while keeping performances audience friendly.
