Description:
Unyted Naytionz is a group of four individuals that promote fun rap with a dance beat and community conscience. The hip hop group has taken off since last August and has been performing at local clubs in the Iowa City area. We have also been asked to perform at numerous benefits concerts to support Tsuanami and Leukemia victims. This allows us to bring together our different backgrounds to create community unity. We are just a couple of Iowa City rappers hoping that our message will influence young people in positive ways.
Band Members:
Jorge Flores (PORTAL) was born in Managua, Nicaragua. That same year Mahmoud Lutfi (VERSTYLE) was born in Khartoum, Sudan. Almost 20 years later these two would meet in The United States of America and join forces to spread goodwill through the art of hip-hop. Together they combine their artistic abilities to create trilingual ( English, Spanish and Arabic! ) story line sequences filled with poetic realism, humor, and life's experiences. Karim aka Freetown was born in Sierra Leone, Africa and is of course the mastermind behind the banging beats that are scratched to by DJ Sharlo, a native to the states. Together they are Iowa City's finest. Together they are Unyted Naytionz.
