Description:
Engage is a hard rock band the that varies its sound between softer and harder material, with the intent to emphasize musical skill along with the strong or catchy riffs that grab an audence. The band was first formed in 1999 when vocalist Kirk Witter and bassist Justin Eisenhauer met working together in Toms River, NJ. We had trouble finding a drummer at first, and were doing acoustic shows with Justin on guitar and Chris Sage on bass. When Chris left Justin had asked his long time friend, Kevin Keilen, to come over a hear what he and Kirk have been working on. After spending some time being backed up by a drum machine, the group found a drummer in Bob Devecka. Jeremy Garey, the most recent addition to Engage, joined six months ago as the new guitarist after Keilen had to make a sudden move to South Carolina. Our sound marks an attempt to bring back an elemant of music that has been missing. Anymore, (music) seems to not focus on musicality or musicianship, so we’re trying to bring that back to it, come out with something different that people would like, and also show our talents......Odd time signatures in songs, off-beats, things like that. People can still feel the music, but recognize us as musicians. Since Jeremy has joined the band we’ve written two new songs that are ready for performance: “Wasted” and “Will You Be There?” Recently, the band finished work on a music video with Pulse Motion Pictures, for one of our songs, “Regret”, harder rock song that Kirk describes as crowd mover. “Regret” has been featured, along with (3) others songs (One Weak, Through the Rain, & Faded) on two radio stations; B98.5 and 95.9WRAT. Engage has been spending most of our time wrapping up the video and getting Jeremy acquainted with our older material. We are also working on material for a studio album, and plan to hold a premiere for the video for “Regret” at either “The Brighton Bar” (in Long Branch) or “The Green Room”(aka Sawmill in Seaside)

Kirk- can write a melody to anything, never-ending creativity....the man will always write music Jeremy- listens to the most techinical riffs so he never feels he is better than his idols, but damn he can shred up the fretboard, and yet keeps it easy to follow. Bob- Man of few words...plays along with everysong he has ever heard...he could be "cover man of the year".....and Bob writes some sick original pieces too!! Justin- Givin' you the deep-end. Brings a heavy sound and work ethic to the group....gives kirk a little backing with the vocals.
