Description:
With all of the music labeling in today’s industry, for example particularly with the emo, punk, and hardcore scene, one has to imagine what would happen if musicians from all three styles of music could come together and actually agree on a sound. That result is Crash Ride. Hailing from as far west as Los Angeles, CA and as far East as New Jersey, the sky’s the limit for these three talented musicians. Some would call it “tough guy emo” or the softer side of punk rock. One thing is for certain, their sound is undeniably big, lyrics are as thought provoking as emotional, and stage presence that would rival any band in the industry today.
Band Members:
Ron Corniel (Lead Vocals/Bass) Matt Kocay (Backing Vocals/Guitar) David Garica (No vocals/Drums)
Matt Kocay (Summerset, NJ) and Ron Corniel (La Puente, CA) met while serving in the United States Marine Corps. They played extensively in Okinawa, Japan under the name SOL while on deployment. When the band returned to the states in the spring of 2004 the decision was made that after they separated from the Marine Corps they would continue to play music. It was at this time Ron called his long time friend David Garcia (La Puente, CA) to complete the line up.
Crash Ride profits from the extensive musical experience its members possess. With David and Ron hailing from such noteworthy bands as Suburban Casualties, Big Sack Lunch, and Captain Porno and his Seaman; they bring to the table the SoCal punk influence. Matt, who has played with Nourish the Flame and various other hardcore acts from the Tri State area, he proudly represents the brutal north east hardcore scene.
