Band Members:
David Box was born and raised in Southern California. His passion for music started at a very young age when he started on piano, then drum set, and finally saxophone. After going to college for three years in Southern California he received an offer to study with the world-renowned classical saxophonist Harvey Pittel at the University of Texas at Austin. Due to a scholarship and the reputation of the institution Mr. Box knew he would receive a versatile education in jazz and classical saxophone and be able to participate in a thriving art community. Since his move to Austin, Texas in the summer of 1998 David has won his first concerto competition in California, performed the A. Glazounov Concerto with orchestra, recorded on six albums, two commercials, and one movie. He has performed and studied with some of the countries leading artists including Michael Brecker, Phil Woods, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra backing Harry Connick, and numerous Austin based artists and groups. Mr. Box is a featured musician in the upcoming Disney movie "The Alamo", has played for numerous plays and musicals, and organizes and performs with his own jazz or classical groups.
His desire to communicate emotions about his life and current affairs through his art has been winning over audiences throughout the world. David's decision to settle in Austin was solidified two years ago when he met his fiancee. With their wedding planned in Austin for the summer of 2004, many of David's fans and colleagues are happy that this city was able to capture his special talent. Upon his return to Los Angeles in the summer of 2004 David will continue with musical consultation for movies and proceed with more studio work. His continuing success and the demand for his unique talents are the stamp of any great artist.
