Description:
Rock Bottom is a five member band in central Mississippi with 3 guitarist, a bass player and a drummer. the band plays everything from Jimi Hendrix to George Jones, even a little Puddle of Mudd. Rock Bottom is currently playing all throughout central Mississippi, including Greenville, Vicksburg, Yazoo City. The band is currently breaking attendance records everywhere they play and gathering a somewhat large group of followers. Rock Bottom began as Cypress Station but quickly changed to the name Rock Bottom with the departure of the original bass player. Rock Bottom's band members ages range from 40 to 21 which give the band a unique perspective with a wide range of influences. Band Members:
Singer / Guitarist James Shannon Bussey has been playing music for about 15 years. He credits Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, and the Rolling Stones as his major musical influences, but believes Neil Young is the greatest musician of all time. He is currently completing his work toward a Masters Degree in Political Science. Lead Guitarist Rodney Joiner has been playing the guitar for 25 years. He grew up in the 70's listening and playing Van Halen, Journey, Kiss, and Boston. Rodney currently own his own company, Joiner Heating & AC. Ronnie O. Bussey, Jr. has been druming off and on for about 10 years. He is considered an extremely talented drummer who can balence drumming with singing a few songs. "Rob" as his is called, names Hank Williams, Jr. as his major musical influence, but is also a big Aerosmith fan. Rob's favorite all time drummer is no other than Don Henly. Rob is a Auto body Technician at Goss Body Shop. Singer / Guitarist Quinton Goss was asked to join after the band had been formed for several months. A singer and guitarist who could bring a voice with a "country sound" was needed and Quinton was the obvious choice.He sings probably 30% of Rock Bottom's songs.Quinton currently owns Goss Body Shop. Bass player Dusty Cooper joined the band after the departure of the original bass player. Dusty filled in a few times before the departure and was the obvious choice when the vacancy became open. Although the youngest member of the band, Dusty has the same influences as his older band mates. He is an avid Neil Young fan, as well a fan of Wide Spread Panic.
