Description:
In April 2011, a serendipitous meeting of minds happened at drummer Paul Barrineau's house. Paul and Tom Ass (both from reggae punk band David Hasselhoff's Haircut) were jamming out with local acoustic artist Ian Hart and Andrew Wolfe (bass player for post punk/screamo band the Mobiuss Continuum). The jam session had an unexpected cohesion but was missing an element. That's when the final piece fell into place. Dr. Skankenstein, keyboardist for ska rockers Jackmove and singer/keyboardist for reggae/jam unit RIO, came over for some help fleshing out some of his unfinished song ideas. Before the night was over they wrote five original tracks and had come to form Union Picnic. Within 72 hours they played their first show. Since then Union Picnic has been moving at supersonic speed playing shows and writing new original music. Offering their own special blend of rock and drawing from their diverse influences, they have put together a rock-your-socks-off live show that is not to be missed. Recently, Ian Hart departed and was replaced by Josh "Bodie" Black. UP is on it's way into the studio to cut their first EP, coming soon!
