As a group of seasoned musicians who have performed on the local and national music scene for many years, the Birmingham Rhythm Kings is a versatile Rock Rhythm and Soul Band formed to appeal to the 21 to 50+ crowd. They emphasize vocals out front with attention to volume and presence. All functions include a designated Sound Engineer and Stage Lights, giving the client the ability to create the atmosphere they are looking for. With a backbone rhythm section, the Rhythm Kings perform Classic R&B, Top 40, and Motown along the way. The band is perfect for events ranging from wedding receptions to private, charitable, and corporate functions. They can tailor a performance to satisfy almost any type of event, and it is guaranteed that a good time will be had by all when the Birmingham Rhythm Kings are in the house! Band Members:
Lead Vocals Accoustic Guitar Jon is an accomplished singer and acoustic rhythm guitar performer who performs as a single act as well as Lead Vocalist for such area bands as Split Ticket, Johnny and The Birddogs and Rear View Mirror for over 25 years.

Lead & Rhythm Guitars Vocals Doug has over 35 years of professional experience in playing, arranging and conducting. He has played in local well known band such as: Dogwood, Homestead Act, Hotfoot, The Blades, Roadside Attraction. Doug wrote songs covered by Dennis Yost and the Classic IV as well as Herb Alpert. Doug also currently heads and plays in the highly successful local band Sweet William.

Bass Guitar John is an accomplished blues recording artist with over 25 years experience having also played with Lolley Lee, King Fish, Ona Watson & Champagne , John also played bass on the award winning Blues CD Mind Bender. Bassist for Dick's Hat Band for ten years, John has earned the respect of many, including 'swamper' David Hood. John's laid back style and dead-on bass playing can be heard on CDs by many artists, including Mark Sallings, The King Brothers, and Bo Gallager. John also plays regularly with The Tim Boykin Blues Band.

Horns Percussion Rich has been performing for over 35 years with many local bands that include Q-Bop, Groove Daddys, Daja Blue, Dick’s Hat Band, Slow Gin 60’s Review, Ona Watson, Champagne, and Foxy Fats. Rich also plays with the Tuscaloosa Horns where he has backed-up The OJ’s, Temptations, Kenny Rogers, The 4 Tops, Frankie Valley and many others

Keyboards Vocals With over 35 years performance experience as a keyboardist and a vocalist, Roger has been a member of local bands Sailcat, TellURide, Wiredge, Saje, Locust Fork, Kiki, Double Feature and his Dad's western swing band The Country Pickers. Recently he has played concerts with Muscle Shoals recording artists The State Line Mob. Roger has backed artists such as Alabama's Jeff Cook and blues legend Johnny Shines. He has opened for acts including The Marshall Tucker Band, Cowboy Mouth, 38 Special, The Legendary Whalers and others.
