Originally Crossroads was a classic country band, heavily rooted in the works of the country music legends like Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard, and George Jones. But the contemporary country music of today kept calling like a voice on the cool wind across a lake. We heard that call and slowly moved into more of the "not so classic" country, and we loved it, and played it with a deep passion. And like a cool drink of water on hot day, we found it refreshing, but we still felt musically "thirsty".
Today’s country music seems to take the elements of "home, family, love, and life" and tells the stories just like the great classics did , but with a wild edge to the music. The music is gritty, it has attitude, one can almost feel the sweat roll off the artist as you listen to the songs of today, ...... feel that cool breeze, that just blew through....that's the new season for Crossroads. The band loves this new sound, ....yes the "sound", like the season is changing! It is a change that we have been looking for, and now it quenches our thirst, and soothes our musical souls as never before. While we still do some of the music we have played in the past,...while it's the same ..it's also now different as well, also playing some of the classic rock tunes along the way. And, teaming with new songwriters along the way, we will be performing some their originals, that while not on country music radio "yet"...they will be, but we'll bring it to you first!
