Guitar-driven, dynamic, and jagged with just the right number of pop hooks. Think Pixies or early R.E.M. with hints of more modern indie influences like The White Stripes and Built to Spill.
Lights Over Reno is a 4-piece that first appeared in Calvert, MD when Todd Kennedy joined with close friends: Brandon Clower, Ben Michel, and Lee Tillinghast (all formerly of The Lackeys) in the winter of 2006. In an unheated rec-room above Kennedy's garage they began sketching songs on a four-track cassette recorder while they burned ping-pong balls and guitar picks to keep warm. The band's first EP, Stranger was recorded in July 2007 at Clay Creek Recording Studio, and is now available on iTunes and CDBaby. Live performances began in June 2007; and the band continues to book shows in Baltimore, Philadelphia, DC, and the beach. Their full-length debut will be released in the spring of 2009.
