Description:
Forming in 2003 with Dave Grigsby, Chuck Bradley, Tim Engle, and John Chester we didn't know what we wanted to do with the band but we all knew we had to start making music again. After playing "Crazy Train" by Ozzy we said, "what the hell are we gonna call ourselves". A bunch of middle aged "kids" playing hard rock. Someone mentioned "well we act like were in a MIDLIFE CRISIS", and it stuck.

We added Greg on guitar in 2006 which promoted a heavy two guitar attack. It was not long after this that Dave had to leave the band due to illness. Losing Dave was a huge blow to the band.

Instead of bringing in another guitar player we decided to bring in Tim Cody to play keyboards. Chuck took over some of the guitar duties at this time. Adding Tim on keyboards opened the group up to a more diverse and mainstream sound.

MLC has concentrated on live performances and recording with great success in the past 3 years and our goal is to keep playing and enjoying ourselves while we do it. Were not posers or growlers. We actually smile when we play (wouldn't you?).

MIDLIFE CRISIS released the extended play (EP) CD "Women and War" in March of 2008. To date it has sold more than 400 copies and has achieved extensive airplay on local radio. "Women and War" has also climbed the charts at www.numberonemusic.com claiming the number position for three straight week with "Empty". The CD was recorded entirely in the MIDLIFE CRISIS studios and consists of 5 original songs. In the winter of 2007 MIDLIFE CRISIS recorded a version of the Bing Crosby favorite "White Christmas" for the compilation CD "A Tub-Fi Christmas Vol II". White Christmas has become a favorite with local radio. We are currently working on a new CD and expect it to be released in the Spring of 2009.

Influences include bands such as Whitesnake, Journey, Aerosmith, Queensryche, Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Van Halen, Bad Company, and Foreginer (to name but a few).

Were always open to talk about a show

Band Members:
Chuck Bradley - Vocals and Guitar Chuck began his musical journey in 1986 when he joined his first band “DaNang” out of Lexington Kentucky. DaNang (heavy metal) toured most of the eastern seaboard for nearly three years, playing clubs and concerts. In1989 DaNang recorded their first and only album “Welcome to DaNang” on Shellshocked Records. The band split in 1990. In 1990 Chuck became the frontman for the top 40/rock group “LaRoxx” based out of Southeastern Kentucky, playing clubs in and around Kentucky. In 1991, the founding members of DaNang reformed under the name “Hydra” and again began touring the eastern seaboard, garnishing some opening slots for bands such as Foghat, and Brownsville Station. Hydra broke up in 1993. Chuck then joined the Top 40 group “Middle Earth” from Louisville, Kentucky, and toured extensively for over two years, playing cover material popular during that time period. Middle Earth was fortunate to open for bands including The Marshall Tucker Band, and Badfinger during the years Chuck was their lead singer. In 1993 Chuck settled back in southeast Kentucky and joined “Cruise”. Chuck recorded a solo album in 1997 entitled “Working Class Man” which sold 500 copies in and around the Hazard Kentucky area. In February Chuck had a dream of a lifetime come true when he won a regional vocal contest and was invited on stage with his favorite band Queensryche. Queensryche's lead singer, Geoff Tate, has always been Chuck's idol and getting to meet and sing along beside of him was "the highlight of my musical career". This all occured at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach South Carolina (see pictures in the "photo's and video's" section of the website. Chuck has two sons, Jimmy (11 yrs old), and Brad (21yrs old, who is also a musician) and lives in Vest, KY. Chuck’s email address is cgbrad@tvscable.com “The current lineup of Mid-Life Crisis is one of the strongest groups of musicians and friends I have ever had the privilege of working with. Great guys all. I look forward to a long relationship with all of them so we can keep the music alive that we all love so much. I hope everyone comes along for the ride” ---- Chuck Bradley

Greg Hall - Guitar and Vocals Greg began playing the guitar in 1970 at the age of 6. First band was High Voltage at the age of 12. Played local restaurants and social gatherings. Band members were Greg Hall, guitar/vocals, Joe Banks guitar/vocals, Kevin Looney Bass guitar, Steve Jones Drums, David Blair and Harold Craft Vocals. We all were just kids, but that was part of what made us fun to watch.

In 1979, myself and fellow guitarist Joe Banks joined and southern rock band by the name of “ROX”. Band members were John “Hugo” Back/lead Vocals, John “Big John” Back/Bass and Vocals, Robert Halcomb/Drums, Greg Hall/Lead and rhythm Guitars, Joe Banks/Lead and rhythm Guitar. In the fall of 1981 we recorded our first record titled, “Cold Blue Steel”.

In 1983 I joined a band by the name of Chariot. This band was headed up by Tim “Bondo” Baker, and included Greg Hall Guitar/Vocals, Raymond Dzierzek Guitar, John Chester Bass/Vocals, Greg Underwood Drums/Vocals, and then later Harold Trent took on the roll of the Drums.

In about 1989, hooked back up with Raymond and John, and added the percussion attack of Barry Miles, and later the keyboards of Tim Cody, to form the band NuthinFancy. This band played and toured for about 9 years.

In December of 2005 got a phone call from John Chester wanting me to come up and hear the guys he was playing with at the time. The name of there band was MIDLIFE CRISIS. This band included Chuck Bradley Vocals/Guitar, Tim Engle Drums, John Chester Bass, and Dave Grigsby Guitar/Vocals. I went up and jammed around a bit, and come to find out, they were looking to add a Guitarist. I eased into the position, have been with them ever since. Late in 2006 Dave had to leave the band due to health issues, and we picked up our ole friend Tim Cody on the keyboards. This is the current line up for MIDLIFE CRISIS. We play Festivals, fund raisers, and anything we can get that is NOT a night club. The band agreed as a whole, that none of us wanted to go back on the club circuit. And we are all rockin happily ever after…………

Tim Cody - Keyboards Tim joined MIDLIFE CRISIS in the fall of 2007 after Dave Grigsby left the band. Tim has played and taught music most of his life and has played in multiple bands in and around the southeastern Kentucky area.

Tim Engle - Drums Tim started playing Snare drum in the 8th grade band at Knott County Middle School. While in High School, he taught himself how to play the drum-set. During his senior year at Knott County Central he along with Tim Cody, Raymond Dzierzek, Marvin Boggs, Gary “Gumpy” Miniard formed the band FANYASYrted playing Snare drum in the 8th gradeand at Knott County Middle School. While in H Fantasy played for several years in the Eastern Kentucky area and won the Battle of the Bands in Hazard, Kentucky in 1985-86. After Fantasy broke up, Tim started playing music with several other bands in and around the Hazard, Pikeville, and Prestonsburg area. The band North Star which played local bars and parties in Ohio, consisted of Bobby Wright, Tim Engle, Raymond Dzierzek, and Gomer Sexton.Due to a career change, Tim sold his drums in 1991. In 2003, Tim came into the Big Eye Club where Dave was playing at the time. Tim and Dave had been long time friends and were always playing in bands together (back in the good old days). Tim set-in with the band for a couple of nights and after talking with Dave, Dave told Tim that he was moving to Lexington, Ky and was needing to quit playing for a while. Later we decided to form an awesome 70’s and 80’s Rock and Roll band. Dave has played in a band with Chuck at the Big Eye Club, Cruise, but Chuck had left the band. Tim knew Chuck from High School but had never played in a band with him. We knew we wanted him to sing and when asked, he said was up for the challenge also. Tim knew John from Nuthin Fancy and we decided to contact him to see if he was interested. He said, HELL YEA and Tim bought another set of drums. Who would have ever thought that a bunch of Eastern Kentucky Friends could form such an AWESOME Rock and Roll Band!!!!!!!!

John Chester - Bass John has been in a few other bands before this one. The last one of any success was a band called "NuthinFancy". The band consisted of Greg Hall, John Chester, Raymond Dzierzek, Barry Miles and Tim Cody.
