Description:
Led by childhood friends John-Paul Zammit (Guitar/Vocals) & Dan Karmel (Bass/Vocals) Woodward began to form in October of 2004.
Zammit’s tight, swaggering guitar riffs alongside Karmel’s thumping funk influenced bass lines flow effortlessly through their undeniably catchy harmonies and powerful vocal trade-offs.
Complementing Karmel & Zammit’s chemistry and stage presence is classically trained pianist Jordan Funk who throws down to add to the ‘feel-good’ with soulful piano melodies and blues inspired stabs, while drummer Paul Brochert holds it all together with tightly pocketed beats and breaks. The ensuing style created by Woodward offers listeners a vintage Rock n’ Roll feel with a modern rock edge.
In a very short period of time, the boys from Woodward have been creating quite a buzz around the Detroit metro area. With a number of comparisons echoing through the Detroit Rock City streets from The Ramones to The Beatles, Woodward has been able to propel themselves into the local spotlight, separating themselves from the masses of mediocre rock ensembles.
By packing such renowned venues as the Magic Stick & Blind Pig, Woodward has earned their reputation for “rocking your socks off” and has also played alongside such notable artists as Brian Vander Ark from The Verve Pipe. In 2006 look for Woodward to be releasing their first studio project, The Pants Party EP.
