Band Members:
RONNIE LEE WILLIAMS: Band leader sings lead/harmony vocals, plays keyboards and guitar. His parents were so disappointed when he was born - they were expecting a child. After many treatments and procedures Ronnie Lee finally started looking like a normal lad. Growing up in a small town located on the New Jersey side of the the Hudson River, he would sit on the steep cliffs behind Palisades Park and sing along with his favorite tunes playing on the radio. As he grew into his teens his dad bought him an accordion. Ronnie Lee learned how to play that accordion and used to sneak over to Coney Island in New York City where he would perform outside of the famous Nathan's for all the hot dogs and cokes he could consume. As he matured, he performed with various "oldies" bands. Throughout the years, he would open for the national acts like Jay & The Americans, The Shirelles, The Grass Roots and The Fifth Dimension, just to name a few. In 1979, Ronnie Lee gave up his dream of rock and roll to take a job in the great city of Cincinnati. After sitting around every weekend for 17 years in his old band shirts, Ronnie Lee couldn't stay away from performing anymore. So, he put together The AMERICAN GRAFFITI BAND - and the group has been delivering those great oldies sounds since 1995.
The members of the band are:
KAT, vocals - Sounds like the gal groups of the 60's are back. You ain't heard nothing until you hear her sing Da Doo Ron Ron.
DADDY-O - bass. He has played with the Lettermen and been a member of Dynasty, Flashback and Hot Wax. He was one of the founding fathers of the American Graffiti Band and performed with the Lettermen.
THE PROFESSOR, keyboards and vocals - has played with Flashback, Hot Wax and the Avenues.
THE REAL DR. PHIL: As a boy there was concern about all the excess energy. His loving and caring parents took him for therapy and after 30 minutes the therapist said “hey kid, just beat it”. Taking this literally, he took up the drums. This calmed the savage beast within and a useful purpose was found for all that energy. Phil performed in his High School Concert and Marching bands and was a percussionist with the Louisville Youth Orchestra. While in college he was pit percussionist for various college and local theatre groups and was often found jamming with the band du jour at the fraternity house. After a brief hiatus he resumed drumming. Phil has played with Ritchie and The Students and now with The American Graffiti Band. But, you might just see him sitting in on percussion with various local bands. Look for the really good looking guy behind the congas.
ART V, Keyboards and vocals - has performed for many years on the local circuit. His fine keyboards round out the big sound of the band.
KID COLE - guitar/vocals. He has performed in the area for many years and is welcomed back to the band. His vocals and guitar really add a great sound to the group.
PEPE, sax. (during summer months). He has played with Hot Wax and many oldies acts.
AMAZING AMANDA - tambourine and percussion.
BELDAR GARCIA - sound engineer.
