Alan Dalton will teach Banjo (beginner to advanced) in addition to "Earl Scruggs Guitar Style" at Riverbend Bluegrass Music Camp, June 4, 5, 6 2004'. Learn technique and hot licks played by such greats as Earl Scruggs, J. D. Crowe, Sammy Shelor, &, Bela Fleck. Alan currently performs with the new Bluegrass Band "Barnthouse & Dalton"(barnthousedalton.com) and just completed a CD project "Building Bridges" (angelfire.com/folk/buildingbridges) with "Southern Lite Band" at Doobie Shea Studio. Alan Dalton, well known for his mastery of the banjo and his teaching techniques, provided all of the 5-string and high harmony work. Alan also provided banjo work on recordings with Vassar Clements & Keith Tew of "Rock County". From 1999 to 2001, Alan performed with "The Tews" and shared the stages of Dollywood, with such bands as "The Kruger Brothers", "Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike", "The Larkins", and "The Chapmans". Vassar Clements, Larry Rice, Peter Rowan, Tim O'brien, and Chubby Wise are also on Alan's past performance resume. Alan's career highlight was being introduced to "Earl Scruggs" by Vassar Clements and getting to play banjo with him at his home in Nashville. Other Instructors include: Jim Hurst 2-Time IBMA Guitar Player of The Year, Missy Raines 4-Time IBMA Bass Player of the Year, Tommy Slaughter 6-Time Florida State Fiddle Champion, Ernie Evans - mandolin, Scott Anderson - banjo and Mark Gresham - guitar
