Description:
Since its opening in 1996, Walden's Coffeehouse has been a favorite destination for true fans of hearty refreshment, great service, and the best original entertainment.
Music and the Arts have been part of the Walden's recipe from the very beginning. Over the years our cozy, converted farmhouse has been witness to belly dancing, poetry recitations, performance artists, and some of the best amateur and professional musicians in the world.
------------------------------------
Walden's Coffeehouse has built a reputation as one of the best venues for original acoustic music in the West.
Although we feature both local & touring musicians, we do need to hear some samples (online or snail mail) and review your background info before you can be considered for a Friday night Musician's Showcase event. If you don't have recorded material for review, you're more than welcome to appear at our award-winning open mic night and show us your stuff! The show starts at 7pm every Saturday, but if you want to perform you'll need to get on the list no later than 5pm.
Walden's does not pay performers nor do we allow a cover charge. Music at Walden's is always free to the public. This provides our community with a great venue for live, original music, and musicians get a chance to perform their own material for a truly appreciative & enthusiastic audience.
Walden's provides free food & drink to band members on the night of their Showcase. You are welcome to sell your wares (CD's, t-shirts, etc.) at your Showcase appearance. Additionally, you are welcome to put out a tip jar if you are so inclined. If you are interested in selling your CD's on consignment at the shop, contact Jeff Wilson or Todd South for further information.
Thank you for your interest in Walden's Coffeehouse!
