After many member changes as well as many name changes , on March 31, 2007 the six member metal powerhouse introduced themselves to the world and thus, Suicide Opera, was born. With a solid lineup consisting of David McClanahan (vocals), Mikey Frank (drums), Jason Stevens (guitar), Josh Henderson (guitar), Bobby Tennison (bass), and Trent Hill (keyboards) they have begun to cut the wounds into the local metal scene.
By the summer of 2008 the band had recorded and released their debut album , Act One . Their first album has become a favorite of fans all over F ort Worth and Dallas . With musical influences ranging from Kiss, Nothing Face, Mudvayne, and Slipknot , the band carries a very reputable fan base, strong stage presence, and really adds to the atmosphere of shows.
Suicide Opera has played many shows with Texas favorites such as Element Eighty, Jacknife, The Destro, (In Theory) R.I.P., Within Chaos, Negative 263, Brotherhood, Stir The Silence, DeadRising, and many others. They have been active participants in popular metal shows such as Metalfest, Slugfest, Metal Up Your Ass, The Karnevil, as well as headlining Ridglea’s Metal Underground. In May 2008 Suicide Opera began to broaden its horizons and participated in the In Thrash We Trust tour playing with national bands God Forbid, Light This City, Soilent Green, and Death Angel. In July the band was invited to The House of Blues to open for The World Series of Metal tour featuring At The Gates, Darkest Hour, Municipal Waste, and Toxic Holocaust.
As the raw talent of six musicians is combined to create a new driving force to the metal scene, now enters what is known as SUICIDE OPERA!
