Description:
Only Midnight is a dynamic Rock band based out of the Raleigh, NC. Over the last 4 years, they've managed to develope a significant fanbase on the East Coast, and have had the oportunity to share the stage with bands like Maroon 5, the Blue Dogs, and The Clear. Only 2 weeks after recording their first EP "Strangest Warning", 5 songs from the disc hit the top ten on the local music charts, icluding a #1 spot with the song "Only Perfect". They are currently in the middle of recording their first full length album, which will be written, produced, engineered, and performed completly by the band. John Briggs: Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano At 22 years of age, John plays, writes, and performs at a level it takes most musicians a lifetime to achieve. He's from Roanoke Rapids, NC, and is currently a student at UNC Chapel Hill. Influences: Led Zepplin, Pearl Jam, Tonic, Tears For Fears
Derek Olds: Lead Vocals, Rythym Guitar, Percussion Derek was born in Memphis, TN, but has lived in NC most of his life, and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2003. As a self taught musician, he has created a unique style that demands an audiences attention. He believes he's found something special in Only Midnight, and that one day, eveyone will get the chance to listen. Influences: Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Matchbox 20
Nic Slaton: Bass Guitar Nic is a 24 years old Jazz musician from Raleigh, NC. He joined the band in early 2002, and has become an interregnal part of the Only Midnight sound. He's currently studying Jazz at UNC Central. Influences: Pearl Jam, Coleman Hawkins, Miles Davis
Brandon Olds: Drums Music has always been a family affairs for Brandon, a 25 years old native of Dallas, TX, and recent graduate from NCSU. "We had a drum set around ever since I was born, so I started teaching myself to play when I was four." He adds the abrasive rythym that has helped make Only Midnight rise to the top in in the Triangle area. Influences: Tim Mcgraw, Tonic, Lynyrd Skynyrd
