Izzy Novak is a fresh-faced, edgy alternative vocalist and song-writer akin to Kate Bush, Bjork, Debbie Harry, Grace Slick with a unique, garage influenced twist all her own. Experience with electronica, garage rock, psychedelic and punk projects.
Isabeau (Izzy) Novak, 23, has been fronting acts for around 10 years, gaining writing, live and recording experience with ammature and professional musicians alike. Weaving in and out of the punk, rock, funk, electronica, psychedelic and industrial scenes, has diversified Izzy's sound, giving her a unique vocal quality, outlook and knowledge of musical genres. Novak is a fresh-faced edgy, alternative vocalist/song-writer akin to Kate Bush, Bjork, Debbie Harry and Tori Amos with a unique, black-humored twist all her own. Her influences range from Alice Cooper, The Ramones, The Strokes, The Hives, The Pretenders, Steven Van Zandt, U2, The Troggs, Jefferson Airplane, to Janis Joplin, Jimmi Hendrix, Bif Naked, The Time and many more.
Making her online debut in 2001, Izzy was the lyricist and melody writer for an electronica project called 'Devil May Cry' on MP3.com. This exposure has earned her international recognition for her unrivaled vocals and lyrical style. She is featured in many Paper and Online Zines world-wide, 'an underground cult figure on the rise'- BackTrax fanzine, UK.
Currently, Izzy is in the process of writing original music with various musicians, including Tony Rabaolo and Thomas McKay of 'Joydrop'. She regularly co-hosts open mic nites with Tony Rabaolo at the Cameron House (Queen St. East Toronto, ON, Canada) every second and third Tuesdays of the month.
Aside from lending her vocals and creative input to artists' albums, song compilations and numerous projects, Izzy is seeking a full-time live and recording project to continue her success, as a part of an solid, edgy original working band.
