We are Baghead hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since forming in 2001, we have pushed ourselves and our music to the limit and then some. Our goal has been to create a sound that has never been heard before; a sound so intense, yet melodic, at the same time. We believe in being as diverse as possible. Some of our main influences include: Slayer, Pantera, Meshuggah, Death, Nevermore, Opeth, and Old Metallica. But we take additional influence from classical, jazz, funk, and rock. We live and breathe music to its perfection. The greatest thing about this band is that we are all doing exactly what we want to do with music. In our own eyes, Baghead is the “perfect” sound. 2004 was a big year for Baghead. Touring to support our debut release “The New Elite” was quite an undertaking. Tripling the number of shows since last year, we’ve played from Worcester, Massachusetts to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We toured with Byzantine (Prosthetic Records) throughout PA, OH, VA, WV, MI, and SC; and have also shared the stage with Lamb of God (Epic), Overkill (Megaforce), Strapping Young Lad (Century Media), Dope (Artemis), Vital Remains (Olympic), and more over the last three years. All of this just helps to show that our live performance is a force to be reckoned with. Seeing Baghead is an experience; a jaw-dropping one at that. Without promotion none of these shows could take place. Besides our music, it is our top priority and we take it into our own hands. The goal in mind is to always be ahead of the game. We accomplish this by booking shows consistently, adding local bands to the bill, passing out free demos, handing out flyers for the next show, acquiring street team members, and sending out updates through our mailing list. We frequently update our website, www.BAGHEADMETAL.com, and our music is featured on radio stations in PA, OH, WV, MD, as well as on the internet (i.e. MySpace, Garage Band, Pure Volume, AudioStreet, etc…). The Baghead name is on over 40,000 demos, albums, compilations, t-shirts, hoodies, bumper stickers, lighters, posters, and other miscellaneous artwork. We know it’s all about exposure. With that said, we are setting the standard for 2005. Recording and production of our sophomore release, “Anomaly”, will be finished in early April. With it’s conclusion we will be embarking on a 120 date tour in support throughout the eastern United States and Canada, as well as participating in other events like Emergenza’s International Music Festival.
