Music types: Acoustic, Pop
Description:
Sealock & German are an acoustic duo offering entertainment, original songs, and two-part ;harmonies with finger-picking acoustic guitars.

Band Members:
Richard Sealock: Richard Sealock was born & raised in Decatur Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Born to musical parents, his father played guitar and both parents sang country music. Richard began acoustic playing guitar at age 10 and, at 12 years he was singing as well. He soon picked up electric guitar and mandolin. Richard's career was strongly influenced by the Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, country music, Blues & Rock and Roll. Early in his career he played solo, duos & with bands in the Atlanta area. Today, Richard lives and plays in the Colorado Springs area with Sealock & German, as well as continuing as a solo artist. His music career is complimented by his technical knowledge of stringed instruments. He has repaired and restored instruments for 26 years and continues this work in Colorado. Dave German: Dave started playing guitar at the age of ten after years of lessons on piano and violin. After playing in a multitude of school bands, Dave's first professional appearance was in a Denver bar band along with high school buddy Rusty Young (of Poco fame) in 1962. Dave played in several bands in and around Denver, often being asked to "sit in" when a regular guitar player was sick or couldn't make the gig. During Dave's Denver days he also played lead guitar for Sonny & Cher, Glen Campbell, and Freddy Cannon on their Midwest tours in 1965. Dave joined the Army on a four-year enlistment in 1966 and was out of the music scene until 1970. After moving to Europe (Germany) in 1972, Dave started playing the folk music scene as a single until joining up with two German nationals to form the band Westwood in 1975. It was in Mannheim, Germany, in 1976 that Dave met up with Rusty Young again at Poco's "Indian Summer" European tour. Rusty gave Dave a nickel-plated Dobro to use on Westwood's first LP. Altogether, Westwood released three LPs in 1976, 1980, and 1982, along with several singles, all containing songs written exclusively by Dave. The 1980 LP, "Winner Takes All", made the hit parade in Germany, shot Westwood to the top, and resulted in a full touring calendar. After around a thousand live concerts, all one-night stands, in conjunction with the corresponding radio and TV appearances, Westwood got a severe case of "burn-out" and disbanded in 1984. Dave returned to the States in 1986 and settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1997, Dave agreed to do a reunion concert with his old band Westwood in Germany. This one "reunion concert" turned into nine sold out concerts over a three-week period and Dave has been returning to Germany on an annual basis to play a nostalgic tour with Westwood. Currently, however, Dave is busy writing songs and working with Richard to promote Sealock & German.

New CD Phantom Canyon Road features Rusty Young from Poco on the song "Sound of Your Voice". Rusty was kind enough to add a pedal-steel solo along with dobro, mandoline, and banjo fills. Super job! Thanks Rusty!
