Rock, Southern Rock
For the last couple of years, we have been building a homebase for the band. After the frustration of finding, keeping, and paying for a practice space, paying for recording time, and constantly moving equipment, we decided to build a facility for ourselves. Undertaking a project like this was harder than we expected, and very costly, but it is due to be completed by the end of October. Once finished, our next step will be to record our debut album, which we plan to have released in January. We recently opened a show at the Ventura Theatre for Blondie, and we will be doing another big show there on Oct. 23rd opening for Edwin McCain. The songs we have recorded are representative of the last couple of years, in that the quality of them is not what we would like them the be. But we had to give our fans something, so we did a few digital 8 track and basic computer recordings here and there, and put them all on a CD which we sell at shows for $5 to raise money for promotions and for our studio project. It's been a slow couple of years, but we feel we're on the brink of breaking out into the rock scene with something true to the independent music world. Doing it completely on our own is incredibly fulfilling and we hope our fans over the years, and fans not yet made will appreciate the way Shades of Day made their music happen
They're a bunch of rockin' dudes and you can find out much more on them at www.shadesofday.net.
