The music of Glow is an updated, modern style of techno-pop electronica blending up-tempo beats with reflective, emotional lyrics. Onstage, Glow features a mix of powerful vocals, guitar and electronic instrumentation with theatrical lighting and effects. Glow's music has been compared to Evanescence, Depeche Mode, New Order, the Cure and Garbage.
Glow released their first EP, Gabriel, in January of 2003. Praised for its "lush," "ambient," "melodic sound" and "ethereal vocals," Gabriel attracted national attention when the title track "Gabriel" was featured on A Different Drum's 2003 release of "The State of Synthpop", a compilation CD showcasing international electronic artists.
Their first full length CD, Rain Theory, will be released mid-April 2004.
Glow formed in St. Louis during the Fall of 2002. Fresh from LA, Brooke Edwards (vocals) and St. Louisans Steve Hostetter (guitar) and Brian Beracha (keyboards) were drawn together through their love of melodic, electronic music. With the addition of Edwards' emotionally intense lyrics, they became the electronica sensation, Glow.
Singer Brooke Edwards was voted "Readers Choice Best Female Vocalist" in St. Louis’ Riverfront Times 2003 Best of St. Louis edition.
