Got (song) writer's block? Maybe this will help

by John Fitzgerald, Founder, Local Band Network

I run the Local Band Network site so a lot of people think that I am a musician of some sort. Sorry to say they are wrong. I wish I was creative enough to create music that I like instead of just being a fan. Since I am not a creator of music I have no idea what goes into the creative process behind writing songs. I do know that when I need to be creative for other reasons (site content, gifts, proposals, etc.) I sometimes get stuck. I recently read an article about a site that Pete Townsend of the Who started with a composer/mathmetician and a software engineer. The site is www.lifehouse-method.com. You can go there for free and get a musical "portrait" based on your inputs. It might turn out great just the way it is or it might just give you ideas on which you can build. Unfortunately, you're on your own for lyrics.
