Music types: Punk
Description:
We are a fast and very energetic band. We fit the description of new school punk with melodic influences.

Band Members:
Hailing from Moscow, Idaho, the band known as P36 was created by brothers Jared (bass, vocals) and Nathan (guitar, vocals) Dawson and friend Aaron Miller (guitar, vocals) as a way to pass the time and broaden their musical aspirations. Now, three years later, they have found themselves with a drummer (Danny Davis), two recorded albums (When Females Attack and the soon-to-be-released Fallen Heroes) and a strong and continuously growing fanbase. P36 was formed three years ago by Jared, Nathan and Aaron. They started simply by writing songs and learning how to create music that just sounded, well, pretty good. As they learned more, they decided to find a drummer and start a band. Now, three years and three drummers later, they have found their niche and have started to develop into the band they wish to become. P36 started off with a sound that could be labeled as “pop-punk.” This was evident on their first self-released album, When Females Attack. While it provided them with a solid fanbase, they decided to move ahead in their sound and give it a sharper definition as they created new songs for Fallen Heroes. This new album shows more of the music that influenced them, ranging from AFI to Strung Out to Bad Religion and everything in between. It is evident that P36 has moved on in their new material towards a more straight-forward, mature brand of punk rock, which is what they have always been aiming for. With three singer/songwriters constantly creating new material, the diversity of their music is something that can be appreciated. They are constantly striving to create newer and better material, pushing forward towards their ultimate goal. Their set list currently comprises upwards of 25 songs (with most coming from the new album) with several others nearly complete. This allows the band to play a set lasting anywhere from under 30 to over 75 minutes. Being from North Idaho, P36 has shared the stage with bands ranging from hippie-rock to heavy metal to country and finally emo. These experiences have allowed them to play to diverse audiences and taught them how to put on a good show, even when placed in unknown territory. The undeniable fan favorite is In the Carnie Now (from When Females Attack), a short but true song about a former girlfriend of Aaron’s who joined the carnival. While previous song topics ranged from heartbreak to philosophical questioning, the new material is much more personal, which is evident in the intensity of the songs. Songs like Speed Bump and Freezerburn have proven to get a huge reaction in the pit, while others like Awakened offer a (short) break in the calamity. Overall, P36 is a much more rounded band, combining enjoyable, inspired music with a high-intensity live performance. Well, now that you have a feel of what we’re about, here’s a brief portrait of who we are. All four of us are students at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Jared is a senior majoring in English and Communications with a minor in Physics. Nathan is a senior majoring in Physics with a Math minor. Aaron is a junior who majors in Art (takes care of the artwork for CD’s/fliers/etc). Finally, rounding out the band is Danny, a junior, majoring in Mechancal Engineering. Danny also designed the website and keeps it updated. So there’s a brief look at P36. They are excited about playing more shows and increasing their already burgeoning fanbase. With their intense live show and captivating new material, it seems that they are well on their way.
