Living Space lands firmly with the release, “Secret Lives, Strange Goodbyes”

– January 10, 2005

Living Space touches down with a strong and moving effort full of mesmerizing melodies and groove-laden pop/rock. Nearly two years after the previous release, Fade Into Existence, Living Space members Trevor Contreras (guitar), Coop R. Fransis (guitar/ vocals), and Kevin Costa (bass/vocals) spent early part of 2004 writing and working out the concepts of 'Secret Lives, Strange Goodbyes'.

In April 2004, Living Space decided to record the basic demos for about 17 songs. The band then narrowed down their demos to 13 solid songs. They felt that they now had the songs that would best represent their sound. They proceeded to spend the next six months in the studio with the “steady drumming” help of William Alums (Zydeco Flames). The band recorded this new release at the Big Hut Studios located in Berkeley, Ca. with producer Timm Walker (Zydeco Flames). Timm also added some tracks on guitar and keys.

Living Space brings a new musical and lyrical confidence that was only hinted at in their earlier work. Songs like ‘Hey Nice Try’ with the rhythm section chugging along as a shared vocal melody tells of an unhappy person in a relationship that has the task of breaking up with their “significant other”. ‘Pill Box’ is a fast paced tale of a drug-induced love. They groove along with a song about finding your sexual identity called, ‘Walking the Line’ and Bowie-influenced twisted one-way love of ‘Clear’. There's the heartfelt plea of 'Palavra'. During these times the anti-war sentiment carried by the gorgeous soaring melody of the song ‘Wingspread’. The band stretches its wings as well with a couple piano driven ballads ‘In My Mind’ and ‘Let it All Go’.

'Secret Lives, Strange Goodbyes' is due to be released in Spring 2005. Living Space is looking forward to reaching more listeners with their live shows. Keep your eyes and ears open for Living Space coming soon.
