Description:
Leaving the Scene is a five-piece, female fronted rock group from Portland, Oregon. First formed under a different name in November of 2002, the band has successfully entered the local music scene of Portland and dominated, by winning city-wide battles of the bands as their first and third shows, and moving on to bigger and better venues, playing the Roseland Theatre as their forth show. In August of 2003, the band had a major lineup change with the departure of drummer Greg Goldman. The band took this disruption as a time to recreate the band from the ground up, and added 2nd guitar player Jason Morris and drummer Dave Muldoon. The remaining members, Rayn McMahon, vocals, Jamie Dunphy, guitar, and Casey Wilson, bass, welcomed the new members and have since created a sound specific to themselves, a technicolor collection of songs written with the members vastly ranging influences becoming appearent. Influences include everything from Coheed and Cambria, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Third Man Out, Alkhaline Trio, Jimmy Eat World, Led Zepplin, and even hip hop artist such as Eyekon.
