Description:
Walt Evans is a rising country music star. No one can sing a country ballad like Walt Evans.
Band Members:
Walt first started singing in the first grade at Reese elementary school. His teacher would ask him to sing “The Yellow Rose of Texas” in front of his entire class because she enjoyed listening to his voice. Meanwhile at home, his mother would sing aloud while doing her housework. She gave him most of his talents including his abilities to teach himself how to play the keyboard, saxophone, clarinet, and rhythm guitar. In 1965 Walt decided to join his first high school band “The Vandals.” That lasted for a year, but many other bands were to follow as well as other careers.
After high school Walt moved to Indiantown and began working as a skilled tradesman for General Motors to provide for his family. During this time he still sang with his band on the weekends. He sang at many Eagle’s clubs, small parties, the Tool Shed in Munger for three years, and the Davenport Bar and Grill for two and a half years. At Davenport Walt grouped up with former Ovation member’s Robin (keyboard player) and Andy (guitar player). They called themselves Raw Country.
It wasn’t long until Walt was able to retire from GM and watch his children graduate from high school. He finally knew it was time to focus on his ultimate goal; receiving recognition for putting so many years into his musical talents.
Walt replied, “It’s not about the money because I could spend all night singing for nothing and still be happy. I just can’t stop singing. I love it to much.
