Description:
SYNTENIC, a 4 piece hard rock band, has quickly developed into a band with the right tools to be one of the next big acts spawned out of the hot bed known as the Jacksonville music scene. With a melting pot of influences like Sevendust, Soundgarden, BLS, Dream Theater, Primus, etc., Syntenic has a sound, presence and energy that will draw you in and leave you wanting more. Syntenic's story began in the winter of 2005. After 3 years of mulitple line up changes and frustration, band members Corry Johnson and Brandon Powell decided to end their band Trite. With a new mindset and resolve, the aggressive search for a new bass player and drummer began. After extensive auditioning, the decision to bring bassist Bobby Cox on board was made. Bobby brings a flair and sound to the band that is unique in it's own right. With his stage stomping performances and thumping bass beats, Bobby helps take the Syntenic show to a whole new level. Drummer Phillip Oyenarte is an addition to the band that happened by chance. When learned of his departure from his former band, the decision to recruit him came easy. Having influences such as Mike Portnoy(Dream Theater) and Neil Peart (Rush), to name a few, Phil's versatility brings an uncanny groove to Syntenic's music that is matched by no other. With the line up complete, Syntenic has made a strong push at making a name for themselves. Getting airplay in local and regional markets along with sharing the stage with notable National and Regional bands like Drowning Pool, Indorphine, Slunt, and Greyscale, Syntenic has, without a doubt, become a force to be reckoned with.
