Description:
The Julia Dream, a striking new presence on the Atlanta music scene, infuses both retro and modern styles to create a penetrating new sound. By combining bass-driven grooves and lush, ambient guitar textures with captivating vocal melodies, The Julia Dream produces an intense, atmospheric landscape of words and music. With songs flowing easily from energetic and upbeat, to dark and transient, listeners will find this dynamic new band hard to resist.
Formed in late 2003, The Julia Dream has emerged on to the scene with a self-released single, Ultrahigh b/w Aliens All Laughing, which quickly gained the band much attention from local clubs and alternative radio. Based on the strength of the single, the band was one of two hundred bands selected to play the 2004 Atlantis Music Conference, accepted out of several thousand AMC submissions. The Julia Dream continues to build on the buzz generated from their Atlantis performance as they take to Atlanta stages and beyond, with plans for regional performances in late 2004. The core band members, singer Vernon P. Love, bassist/guitarist Matt Spatial, and drummer Peter Decker, are joined on stage by live guitarist Lee Hendrickson, to bring the band's subtle blend of emotion-filled melodies and energetic rhythms to life.
