Band Members:
TOMMY RAY & THE 4 DIAMONDS

This band has a rich history revolving around the musicians that make it what it is, a unique Classic Rock group.

Tommy Ray made his mark in 1965 when he recorded his first single called "Wandering Love", in Newark N.J. at the ripe age of 18. Picking up an old acoustic guitar at the age of 9, he found that he loved making music. Then at 16 he joined a group called "The 4 Counts". Tommy moved to California in 1966 while serving in the US Air Force, so he continued his musical career in Long Beach, CA. As an aspiring singer/song writer, Tommy made his way into many rock bands over the years, which included "Rayvin", "House of Lords" and "Night Shift". They would play in several clubs and outdoor concerts in and around the LA / Orange Co. area in the 70's and 80's. In 1990 he recorded his first album, "Cross Road" with a group called "Kings Highway". Currently he has a CD on the market with 6 new songs including a remake of the 1965 single, "Wandering Love". His EP, "Timeless", was released in 2010, and can be heard at Amazon.com, enter Tommy Ray Timeless.

Lead guitar player, Greg Burrow, who teamed up with Tommy Ray in the "House of Lords" band in the mid 80's, helped put the 4 Diamonds together. Greg is no stranger to rock music and making things come out right. From the age of 10 he was singing tunes and by 17 he was playing guitar. In 1980 he played at a wedding for a friend and from that point on music was in his blood. He formed a group called "No Stranger", a six piece band that played together until 1990. Greg became musically versatile by playing bass with several bands, one of which was "Tom Who". In 2007, after a bit of a dry spell, Greg picked up his lead guitar talent and joined, "Partyz On", a Classic Rock band with whom he played with for 5 years. Which brings him to 2013 and back to "Tommy Ray and The 4 Diamonds".

Once in a while things just kinda fall into place without really trying. That was the case with drummer Rich Anthony. At 50, Rich has had a long and fruitful career "behind the skins". At the age of 7 Rich took a seat behind a set of drums his cousin gave him and it wasn't long before the itch became a fever. Playing in several bands throughout his high school years, Rich developed his talent and became a fixture with his Dad's band, "Blue Bajou". He stayed with them until the age of 45, when an illness slowed him down and eventually put him on the sidelines. Recouped and healthy he's back doing what he does best with The 4 Diamonds. His vocal talent adds something very special to this group.

Sometimes when you least expect it, you've got a package deal and don't even know it. I'm speaking of Rinnah Anthony, Rich's wife, vocalist and keyboard player. Shortly after the band started practicing at Rich's house Rinnah asked if she could sing backup to a couple of songs. So now The 4 Diamonds have a girl singer to sing a few lead songs, and as a back up singer. Rinnah has that kinda Janice Joplin, Grace Slick type of voice that just gets your attention from the first note. As far back as she can remember she's been singing. Even as a little girl she would go around the house singing whatever was on the radio at the time. At the age of 12 she took lessons on the piano which soon turned into keyboards. Her talent is a welcome addition to the group.

Tom Robinson went from trombone to bass guitar in high school. Now that's a serious transition, but a good one because the bass was where Tom was supposed to be. His brother had a 62 "P" bass and that was just the beginning. He said when he started playing that bass guitar he knew he was hooked. During his tour of duty in the Navy, Tom picked up a Vox bass, started playing around with various Country, Southern Rock and Jazz bands in Meridian, MS. Mixing in some Reggae and Southern Gospel he rolled that way through the 60's and 70's. Bought his own "P" Bass in '76. He did some touring and some studio work over the years and wound up in a local church doing some "down home" Gospel here in San Diego, CA. That's when Greg, who knew Tom from a former band, gave him a call and asked if he'd like to do some oldies with a bunch of old pro's. Well, you can't keep an old rocker down for long.

That's the band and from that point on the music had a special feel about it. Our music can be felt, not just heard. We perform the songs with the emotion the song was written with and that's what Tommy Ray & the 4 Diamonds are all about.
