Description:
Crawdad Stew is York’s latest family friendly blues band. Their upbeat mix of Modern and Classic blues with just a hint of Motown and Rock has been carefully crafted for its wide appeal to any audience. If audience members aren’t Blues fans coming into the show, they certainly will be when they leave. The Music What sets Crawdad Stew apart from other Blues bands is the song list: All songs chosen very carefully to be tunes that true Blues fans and non-blues fans alike will both enjoy. Every selection is a song you’ll love the first time you hear it as well as the 100th time you hear it. Most of our songs are upbeat blues that make you smile instead of a night full of “cry in your beer” type blues, although there’s a few of those thrown in as well. This ensures the band will be a hit at any venue whether it be a Blues club, Biker bar, private event or your local Fireman’s carnival.

Band Members:
Four simple, laid back guys with a mission: be the best blues band in central Pennsylvania. Bobby ”Gumbo” Williams – Drums, Backing Vocals Since relocating here from Maryland, Bob has been jamming with some of York’s top players on a casual basis and finally accepted the fulltime drumming position with Crawdad Stew with, thankfully, very little convincing. If you’re reading this at any time present or future there’s good chance Gumbo bought a drum kit within the last 10 days. Clair “Bubba” Walters, Jr. – Bass, Backing Vocals This former bassist with Arson and current bassist for Big Wheeley and The Whitewalls lends his bass playing talents to Crawdaddy Stew with fellow “Whitewall” Scott whom he’s played on and off with for 32 years. Famous in Winchester VA for taking his bass into a swimming pool and doing the show from in there. Dennis “Beanpole” Martin – Blues harp, guitar, backing vocals What can we say about Mr. Martin? Well nothing really because he won’t tell us anything, just that he’s done “a little of this and that”. Gem of a player that we found on Craigslist who’s either a famous harp player hiding from the Mob or a guy who lives in a van down by the river. We don’t ask any questions. Scott “Crawdaddy” Olewiler – Guitar, Guitar Synth,Vocals Since his debut at age 16 in local favorites Big Wheeley and the Whitewalls, Scott has played in many successful local bands including The Kooljerks, Pebbles and The Bam Bam Boys,White Ridge, Borderline and I.O.I. before retiring in 2005 to pursue other interests. Now he is back playing the music he’s most passionate about: The Blues.
