Audience quotes..." MGB is TERRIFIC!!! We had the BEST time on Friday night dancing, etc. You sounded AMAZING and the songs were PERFECT. Cannot wait until your next performance."

"What a great time we had enjoying the music and the entertainment provided by MGB Friday night! What fun! The music is memorable and with all we do forget at our young ages....we NEVER forget the music from the 60's...everyone could sing along and we recalled each and every word. You guys are just great ! You blend so well musically and you provided not only a wild party but you made everbody feel good..."

"Mike's Garage Bank thrilled everyone who attended your performance on Friday night. You certainly rocked the house! We know that each band member put many hours into practicing their musical instrument and learning lyrics to a plethora of fantastic rock n roll songs, which brought back memories of fun, carefree times of our "Yute." Your performance was like a magic act...for one special evening, the Mike's Garage Band turned everyone into teenagers again."

Band Members:
MIKE'S GARAGE BAND - It's all about having fun! Mike's Garage Band started like most garage bands...just a group of people wanting to have fun. For some, having fun is re-living their youth. For others , it is doing something new.. and for some it is doing something that is on their "bucket list."Mike Haase moved to St James Plantation about a year ago. They had been active in the many places they lived and wanted to stay active in retirement. Mike started playing guitar in his early teens in Youngstown Ohio. He played in a band throughout high school and in a few bands since then' including The Stone Cliff Band, The Rejuns, and The Plastic Mushroom Band. When he got to St. James, "getting the band together" was something he wanted to do.During the holidays, Tony Defilippis had a party and Mike noticed that Tony had a guitar. " Do you want to play in a band", Mike asked and when Tony said "Yes". this was the begining of Mike's Garage Band. Tony loves to play guitar, but was never in a band before this. At the party Tony mentioned that he heard a very good keyboard player named John Staryak and would ask him if he wanted to join us. Fortunately , he said yes. John also started playing in bands in his early teens, but unlike Mike he continued playing throughout college and afterwords. John has been playing in numerous bands since he was 14. They include the Aztecs, Thunderchicken, and the Good Time Revue. He enjoys playing keyboards, singing, and writing music. Both Tony and John are from New Jersey.Marty Wozniak and Mike Horgan were next to join the band answering a note that Mike (Haase) put in a local publication called"Just Judy". The two are about as opposite as possible, yet they both bring unique strengths to the band. Marty plays Drums, has been in several bands, and has making a recording on his "bucket list". Mike started learning the guitar after he retired. He has never been in a band and brings effort and discipline to the band, asking the right questions to make sure we are on the same page. Marty is from Michigan and Mike is from the Washington DC area. The final two pieces of the Mike's Garagge Band puzzle are Ken Haubrich and Chuck Krambuhl. Ken has a recording studio. Marty , John and Mike Haase did some initial recording work witth Ken and he had so much fun that he asked to join the band.. He played in a folk group when he was younger, plays bass guitar and is from New York. Finally,Mike met Chuck at a St. James newcomer orientation. They started talking about common interests and music came up. Chuck started playing guitar at 15 and loved to play and sing along with all the LPs from the '60s. He never played in a band until joining Mike's Garage Band. He is also from Jersey and upstate New York, but moved from the DC area. That is how Mike's Garage Band came to life. The band practices twice a month and had their first live performance October 18th to a capacity crowd. The band has its own Facebook page. It also has a website... www.mikesgarageband.weebly.com. Photos and videos from the first performance Oct 18,2011 can also be found at www.southportphoto.smugmug.com Finally, several songs can be found on youtube, searching for MGB LIVE MIKE'S GARAGE BAND.MIKE'S GARAGE BAND -is all about having fun!
