Band Members:
"He doesn't just draw a crowd, Shane Scheib gets feet in the seats" Michael Cliffton, Daddio Records.
"It's like Steve Vai got kicked in the nuts jamming with Eddie Van Halen having inhaled an ounce of the weed Clapton smoked"-Isaac Wriston, Roman Lights
“The first time I learned how to play with one hand was from a hippie guitarist who would cut the crotch out of his leather pants and sew in a different color leather patch. One week’s lesson when I was 13 consisted of going into the guy’s teaching room alone, pressing play on the VCR and watching a video of Stevie Ray Vaughn live. That changed everything for me.”
With influences ranging from Abba to Zappa Shane founded various bands including Native Born Alien and Fall Away Façade. He received training in Jazz guitar at Jeff Berlin’s Player’s School of Music in Clearwater, Florida and studied guitar theory under jazz guitar guru Yuzuru Tanakura. In 2005 Shane left the United States for missionary work and held several odd jobs including being a chauffeur, milking cows, and teaching guitar lessons. While overseas he started a Guitar Club in the Maori village of Waharoa, NZ, performed for troops at Yokota U.S. Air Force Base in Fussa, Japan, and recorded music in Auckland, NZ for a YWAM compilation album.
Upon returning stateside he worked on a salmon fishing tender in the Bering Sea, and the skipper, a retired Nashville song writer encouraged Shane to make the move to music city. Shane took that advice and now resides in Nashville where he recorded the Genrelicious EP, an avant-garde blend of influences fashioned together by a master craftsman of guitar music. Some songs are instrumental, others have vocals, all produced with the intention of highlighting the unique abilities of one of Nashville’s most versatile up and coming guitarists.
Shane currently plays for and writes with several Nashville artists, and headlines the Genrelicious Showcase in various cities featuring artists of all styles and backgrounds.
