Description:
We are a new alternative rock/pop band from Lincoln, Nebraska focusing on writing a new album for release sometime in 2009. Otherwise, we have a self-recorded demo called The Oolong EP which is out on our MySpace and available to but on iTunes. With the recent acquisition of a new band van, we want to be a mobile show by the summer of 2010. Until then, we're working on songs for the next recording.
We also encourage any one of our friends or fans who play an instrument (wind or brass or orchestra strings) to help us out live.
Band Members:
Murakami is brothers Eric, Alec, and Adam Slyter (former members of Flightsong), Buddy Maixner, and two new band members that will begin playing with Murakami in January 2009.

November 23, 2008: ------------------ Murakami is currently split between the United States, Japan, and Amsterdam (three members studying abroad). We've released an EP called The Oolong EP which you can listen to on our MySpace page (myspace.com/murakamiband). We've also made a few tracks from Amsterdam, which will be up on MySpace eventually. Two of the three traveling members will be back in January and begin working with some new members. Our keyboardist gets back in May, so shows will be suspended until the late summer of 2009.
* If you are looking for a band to open for you/help you set up a show in the Lincoln area, we can recommend venues for you, but since we will be unable to play shows until summer 2009 there's not much else we can help you with at this point.
