The Alan Fox Band has the sound you just love to hear! "He’s such a bluesy vocalist, he must have been born from an old soul!" is what his fans say. This "gutsy" vocalist has the voice of a dusty bottle of whiskey, shining out in an old Memphis Blues Club. Extreme Blues, and Retro/Rock from Carthage, TX. and Greater Ark-La-Tex area, The Alan Fox Band, was picked as a 2005 first year national finalist at the Sonny Boy Blues Challenge, for the King Biscuit "Battle of the Bands". Alan takes hold of this musical project with his crew of top-notch musicians, showing his smooth guitar work and soulful vocals. The members are : Alan Fox--vocals & guitar Sparx--bass & vocals John Hoffman--percussion Donny Pendleton--guitar & vocals This superior band, has paid years of performing dues and is dishing out music to fill your soul. Alan is now scheduling appearances and performances for his up coming calendar. These include, annual events, music festivals, corporate conferences and functions, private parties, as well as night club bookings, and concerts, throughout the United States. His original songs and cover tunes will amaze and mesmerize audiences of all ages.
Band Members:
Alan Fox 1995 SXSW blues guitar and vocals, went to college to study music with a scholarship to Stephen F. Austin State University where he made many friends. Some turned out to be famous such as, Stevie Ray Vaughn, that used to come to Nacogdoches from Austin, and Alan would open for him at the Cross Roads Club. He also met song writer Michael Garvin who wrote, "Oh Me-Oh My Sweet Baby" for Diamond Rio, and "Waiting for the Night" for Jennifer Lopez, from Bossier City, LA. He moved to Bossier with Mike and performed with him. Alan has worked around some of the worlds greatest performers, such as James Burton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bugs Henderson, Wes Jeans, Lance Lopez, Mark Austin, Pete Barbeck, Texas Slim, Tyler Dow Bryant, just to mention a few. The band itself has just released their eighth album. With a little help, you will see these guys on top billing again. After all some of the members have already been there so why not again!
John Hoffman on drums, is new to the circuit but is ranked in the top 30 of the world by, "The Guitar Center's", International Drum and Percussion Challenge.
Sparx on bass and vocals, has been around, as a member of White Dwarf, they were the opening act for many headlining acts such as, Deep Purple, Nazareth, ZZ Hill, and Thin Lizzy.
Donny Pendleton lead guitar and vocals, has been a member of many headlining acts including "Black Horse", "Four Play", and "U.S. Lords". Donny's unique style adds to the sound of The Alan Fox Band to make TAFB one of the hottest sounds out there today
