AJ Leland

AJ Leland began in 2000 when longtime musicians and friends Geoff Hagan and David Horton, both in their early twenties, began writing songs collaboratively. Together they composed guitar-based tunes with intricate vocal harmonies. The two took on the name “AJ Leland” and performed acoustically in bars and nightclubs in Northern Ohio. The sound quickly caught on with audiences, and Geoff and David looked to take their music to the next level.

Within the year lifelong drummer Dave Burrows and bassist Brian Sabin, also in their twenties, were brought in to give AJ Leland’s songs a full, electric sound. With this lineup the group toured extensively throughout Ohio’s college scene and deep into the southeastern states.

In 2001 AJ Leland released their first LP, a self-titled effort featuring 14 tracks. Over 2,000 pressed copies of this disk are in circulation. These songs are also available on the internet, as are bootlegs of their acoustic performances. Presently AJ Leland is working on a new recording scheduled for release later this year.

AJ Leland is an up-and-coming rock band, with a sound perfect for entertaining bar crowds and college audiences. They have performed in front of thousands of people and have an extensive mailing list. Their sound is quickly reviving the spirit of rock in Southern California.
