The Orama Voice Studio welcomes all children, teenagers and adults who have a sincere desire to make music a profound part of their lives. Programs for all ages and levels are designed to nurture each student’s innate music ability, leading to the satisfaction and personal rewards that come from accomplishment and sharing. Emphasis is placed on vocal, performance experience in addition to private instruction. The vocal instructors of the OVS School are committed to providing each student with the course of study best suited to his or her musical needs. We sincerely hope that you will find a musical home and family within our walls.
In our vocal program you will receive thorough technical training, comprehensive repertoire and styles from opera, theatre, and art songs. Your training will encompass work in the studio, and a diverse repertoire list.
Through private voice instruction and performances, our voice instructors will assist you in developing a solid foundation for university auditions, competitions, and professional public performances. Your private voice instruction is complimented with master classes taught by visiting artists and voice instructors.
Work in the program is intended to provide you with the tools necessary for development that will continue beyond the prescribed course of study. Besides work in the studio, you are encouraged to develop self-reliance in your work, a code of professional behavior, and a sense of professional ethics. The student is required to meet with his or her voice instructor before commencement of the semester to determine a specific course of study based on previous course work and ability. Advanced training in audition technique, resume writing, and repertoire selection are made available to every student as an additional option.
Through the efforts of our vocal performance instructors, you will leave the Orama Voice Studio with an education that enables you to meet and exceed the demands placed on you, a young artist in the 21st century.
