The Numbskulls are a four piece neo-traditionalist punk rock band from Worcester, Ma. They have been playing shows and have been self releasing their music since their start in 2001. Lyrically: The Numbskulls draw from their own experiences and conclusions. True to life and always simply stated, The Numbskulls don't attempt to write songs about things they don't know. Musically: The Numbskulls are four individuals with varying tastes and styles, coming together and coming across, sometimes to the confusion of their listeners, as being this or that. Their formula is simple: Take what you know, put it to music, if it doesn't get you excited, play it faster. A Numbskull song never fails to put forth what some have called "That loud Numbskull sound". What's a Numbskull? The Numbskulls are straightforward, self deprecating and even a little awkward. A Numbskull is incapable of trying to "sell" you anything, they can't be your super punk rock hero and they aren't looking to be outrageous or slyly reminiscent of any bygone era. The Numbskulls have not and don't want to be accepted by fashion punkers or any other self absorbed persons immersed in the trappings of punk rock "purism". The Numbskulls believe themselves to better off that way. Lazy journalism and hackneyed critics will have you believe that it's because The Numbskulls don't belong. Their newest release: "The Last…." was recorded in the fall of 2004 and is part one in a trio of discs being released in 2005. Collectively these 5 song discs will come to represent The Numbskulls musical evolution over the course of a year.
