RC Dub, originally formed in 2003 by core members Emily Madison (Sista M) and Calen Olivetti, is a five piece group from Lincoln, NE.
Throughout the years they have successfully produced original and complex music that has appealed to everyone from dubbers, to jammers, to rockers alike.
Usually described as horn-filled reggae, with a unique sound they utilize styles of dub, ska, rocksteady, and jazz to create their own special blend dub reggae.
One thing shared by all who come out to see the groups exciting live shows is good vibes and a party atmosphere.
Capable of playing hours of music, the group has extensive knowledge of island classics including many Treasure Isle and Studio One tracks crucial for any reggae listener.
After a great response from the release of their debut album, Inna State of Dubmission, RC Dub built an impressive following locally as well as play to large regional audiences.
Their album has received much press and numerous reviews including the Beat Magazine, lots of online exposure and even international radio play.
Some of RC Dub's music was chosen for the gangster documentary, "Shooting Henry Hill", released July 2006.
The group has opened for top touring acts such as The Wailers and Calton Coffee (of Inner Circle), The Big Wu, HR of Bad Brains, and members Sista M and Calen began organizing their own successful regional reggae festival, Prairie Vibrations: Reggae On The Plains in 2006.
All performers come from various musical backgrounds from jazz to rock, which inspires their unique style and sound.
RC Dub consists of Sista M on Bass, Calen on Trumpet, Loren Rye on Trombone, Dave Hansen on Guitar, all Lincoln natives, and Supe from the U.S. Virgin Islands on Drums.
While enduring line-up changes, and continually working on new material, they have managed to remain inspired to grow in an ever positive and motivated direction, bringing reggae consciousness to the masses.
Just back from a successful tour of the west including dates in Ft. Collins and Grand Junction, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Ventura and the Bay Area in California RC Dub will be pushing forward into 2007 with new music and a new album on the horizon.
