Description:
If you’ve seen Lawton perform you know they are all about kickin' it hard. If you haven't been to a Lawton show you should because seeing is believing. Lawtons mission is to make every person who comes to an event feel as though they are with the band. After all, the audience is as much a part of the performance as the performers themselves. Featuring 7000 watts of sound reinforcement, full stage lighting, and a ferocious energy, Lawton gives its fans what they want, a concert.

Lawton is not a typical rock band. The cover song selection is eclectic and spans many genre of rock. The original compositions are radio worthy and poignant. You won't find any 17 year old kids screaming about wanting to kill themselves, or the end of the world in Lawton. What you will find is four seasoned musicians who write songs that mean something to them and hopefully touch a part of your soul as well.

The bands namesake and original bass player Van Lawton passed away unexpectedly 10/14/09, which prompted the guys to rename the band in his honor. Refusing to give up, the surviving members continue to create and play the music Van loved so much. Then rhythm guitarist Tarn Petty took over the low end and has excelled at it. Hoping for a release date in the early spring of 2011, Lawton is currently in the studio recording their as yet untitled debut CD. The music will be distributed worldwide independently while management shops for a label.

Recorded music aside, the live show is where it’s at with Lawton. Getting out there to share their music and energy with fans is the main reason for Lawton’s existence. Playing a good mix of covers and originals the band loves rockin’ it out with other groups from the area to give fans a full night of live music much like going to an arena. No hype, just go see ‘em!

Band Members:
Lead singer - Joe Stedman*s instrument list includes acoustic guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and of course vocals. He plays exclusively Epiphone guitars and uses Sennheiser and EV microphones. Playing professionally for 25 years, Joe has been involved with several locally successful bands including Fools Paradise, and C4. Both of which released CD*s to moderate sales, and opening for acts, Shinedown, Tantric, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Jimmy*s chicken shack, and more. Joe is a very prolific song writer having more than twenty copy rights attributed to him and more than one hundred songs written. Quote: *Pain don*t hurt*

Lead Guitarist - Mike Duplessis' instrument liat includes lead and rythm guitars as well as the bass and the drums. Mike is a self taught musician who started playing the guitar at age eleven. His influences include Stevie Ray Von, Breaking Benjamin, Alice in Chains and Godsmack. Mike enjoys playing fenders and strats and will only use Marshall amps. Previous bands include but are not limited to Seth Redding and the Short Bus Refugees.

Bass Player - Tarn Petty has been playing rythm guitar for 15 years. He has been involved with many bands, playing everything from classic rock to '80's metal. Tarn converted to bass from rhythm guitar when our friend and bass player Van Lawton passed away in "09". We knew he could handle the switch but honestly he has done more than handle it, he has excelled and surpassed all our expectations. Tarn was born to play bass! His influences include Led Zepplin, Alice in Chains, The Doors along with many more.

Drummer - Aaron Bonenfant's instrument list includes drums bass and rythm guitar. Aaron received his first set of drums at age 5 and now owns 7 sets. Previous bands include Flashback, Burn the Evidence, the Dan Hudson Band and Worthy Bones. His influences include Korn, Lincoln Park, Primus, 5 Finger Death Punch and Godsmack.
