Description:
Gridlock64 is a Hampton Roads Virginia area Band, playing the best in alternative, and classic rock. Gridlock64 also writes and performs their own original material. Four members strong, the band features experienced musicians with dynamic vocals, guitars, and drums.
Band Members:
Jim: Lead Singer
Jim Mizelle was the front man for the band Phynal Khutt from 2002 to 2004. During that time he played various venues in the Hampton Roads and Williamsburg area, as well eastern North Carolina. After taking some time off to get married and start a family, Jim has now reemerged on the music scene to deliver his dynamic vocals as the front man for the band Gridlock 64.
Gary: Bass
Picking up guitar at age 16, Gary Scheitle has been playing music for the last 20 years. After a lengthy "band" vacation, he joined forces with his brother "Taxi" to form Gridlock 64 Handling bass duties live and co-writing in the studio on guitar. He was influenced early on by bands like Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy and Kiss, and keeping up with modern bands; he brings to Gridlock 64 a wide variety of ideas and material. His main focus is to entertain you with a current sound and an energetic live show.
"Taxi": Drums
Taxi is a musician's musician who has performed in local bands for over 20 years. He has played guitar and keyboards for such bands as "The Scanners", "Mirror Mirror", "Sacred Ground", "Dr. Ruthless", "Achilles", and "Lovedahl" to name a few. His new weapon of choice is the drums and now attacks them just as vigorously as he did the keyboards and guitars. He has expanded upon his vocal abilities in becoming a strong backup vocalist for the band. His energy, enthusiasm and raw talent are very much a main part of the "Gridlock 64 " live performance.
David: Rhythm and Lead Guitar
David began playing folk acoustic guitar at age 14 and by age 21 he switched to electric guitar. He was immediately into the sounds of Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Yes, Van Halen and guitar rock. Learning to become a technician on the fret board, guitar theory quickly consumed his life during most of the 80's music scene. He is a technically proficient guitarist using 5 to 6 fingers at times to execute two handed scale tap on's. He has the ardent respect of his fellow musicians and a devotion to his craft. His high energetic guitar sounds showcase his technique and ability to integrate the old school and new school sounds into modern rock.
