The three members of Spun came together in the summer of 1999, making their debut at The Cactus Club in San Jose, California. This renowned venue has hosted such national acts as Nirvana, Matchbox 20, Green Day, Smashmouth, Alanis Morrisette, and many others. Shortly after this debut, the band was approached by Orange Peel Records, who asked that they perform in their annual “Indie” festival. Subsequently, the song “Down” was featured on the compilation album “Orange Spot Sessions, Volume I”.
Founding member John Watson, lead vocalist and guitarist, searched far and wide for the right musicians to complete his vision. Bassist Gary Coveney relocated from Boston, and renowned San Jose drummer Aaron Beck joined soon after.
Now in their third year, the band’s following has grown exponentially. With a newly released CD, Spun has appeared at many large festivals, performed live radio broadcasts, and continually packs venues from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. Their high-energy, hard hitting melodies and esoteric lyrics combine to create a sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences. All indications are that Spun is poised to take their place among the great California rock bands.

(PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- Acclaimed artist SPUN has completed their highly anticipated third album “ANOTHER ROUND” and it will be released by Unique Productions on October 20, 2005. Another Round, produced by Shane Anderson contains twelve new tracks from this groundbreaking band.

On Monday, October 31st, SPUN’S new official web site will launch at www.spunonline.net unveiling music and album artwork from Another Round. Fans visiting the site will be the first ones to hear two songs in their entirety from the new album: "Geek " and "Can‘t Sleep." In addition to the launch of the site, there will be an online promotion allowing fans to enter to win the new CD and a chance to see SPUN live in concert.
Also on Monday, fans will also be able to listen to the track "Can‘t Sleep" at online social networking destination, "http://www.myspace.com/uniqueproductionz". On the following day, Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 various digital music stores will make "Album" available for download.
