Description:
BrakeFIELD is a local Christian, Rock band from Greenville SC. With a sound that mixes the influences of Relient K, Jimmy eat world, Disciple, and varies females singers such as Sarah McLachlan and Jennifer Knapp. Over the past two years members Nikki Ray (vocals/R. Guitar), Colby Brakefield (bass) and John Cooper (L. guitar), have made a name for themselves by delivering their original and heart-felt music, that combines perfectly with their low-key, down-to-earth stage presence. Recently BrakeFIELD has added Grayson Parker (a local drummer from Anderson, SC) and is very excited about what he is going to bring to the band in the future. BrakeFIELD intends to continue playing to magnify their Savior, Jesus Christ for as long as people will come and listen.
Band Members:
Brakefield (at the moment) consists of three members: Nikki Ray (vocals/ R.guitar) 18 yrs old, a freshman at Anderson College, She leads worship and travels with her church The Warehouse and loves writing, singing, and playing more than almost anything. Nikki is a very dedicated Christian and has a passion for spreading the joy of worship to anyone around her.
Colby Brakefield (bass) 19 yrs old, Colby is a Freshman at North Greenville College, and admits that music is his entire life. He loves going to concerts and playing shows. He has been a christian for many years and his extreme faith is the one thing that those who meets him remember most.
John Cooper (L. guitar) Also 19 yrs old, John is a freshman at University of South Carolina, studying Media Arts. Though the distance from the other band members has made it more difficult to practice and promote, John has shown amazing loyalty to the band he loves. He is an amzing guitar player who loves nothing more than random guitar solos that leave the audience speechless.
Grayson Parker (drums) 18 yrs old, Grayson is the newest and craziest member of brakeFIELD. He joined the band as a temporary fill-in in March of 2005 and hasn't been able to leave since. His love for Hard-core music and incradible raw talent and definately given brakeFIELD the edge they have been looking for.
