Description:
See Jane Run is an original rock band hailing from greater Hartford, Connecticut. Original Alternative Retro Pop. Now what the heck is that? See Jane Run combines influences from the 60's to today and blends them into an infectious mix of jangley guitars and vocal harmonies. Somehow or another, it all makes sense and combines together to create the distinctive sound of See Jane Run that's fun to be around.
Band Members:
Guitarist Tom Bittle joined Guitarist Mark Gaulke and Bassist John Kaukas' band, "Lost Weekend," in 1992. Tom had been in "The Broken Hearts," a seminal Hartford, Connecticut, Indy-Pop band in the late 80's, and brought a pile of his own songs to add to the mix with Mark's originals. They soon changed the name of the band to "See Jane Run," and under that name released their first self-recorded album in late 1994. The eponymous album featured five Mark-songs and five Tom-songs, all infused with their trademark vocal interplay and recklessly energetic guitars.
A series of club dates followed in Hartford-area venues. See Jane Run supplied local college radio stations with CD copies of the album and several tracks saw repeated airplay on shows such as "The Greatest Show From Earth" on WWUH-FM.
In 1996, drummer Peter Rustin left the band to move to sunny California. The band searched and searched for the perfect replacement for Peter. On the second 10-song CD, titled "Weird Reality," Bob Murray contributed some very distinctive drumming. SJR thanks him for his inspired work. We've completed our second CD, titled "Weird Reality." The disk has 10+ tunes by Tom and Mark and Tom's really - well - weird cover art! Our upgraded studio enabled us to add some cool musical details to this batch of songs. The selections are, in order: She Let Me Go, Love Rescue Me, Trouble, Too Late for Promises, Blown Away, Not That Simple, Look at You, Our Way Back, Lead Me Not, and Take the Pipe (plus a surprise extra track).
