Description:
Determination and a true love for music have kept Split Indecision rocking for nearly two years. Split Indecision was founded in June of 2002 by members of the original line up and from the defunct members of Ill Fated. The band quickly started with a punk mentality and worked on new material with the original bassist Jenn Winans in Brad’s basement at 112 Buttercup Way, Bloomington, IL. After a quick learning period the band selected the name 23 Split as its calling card. The band played its first show in July of 2002 and has done nearly 50 since. They quickly recorded and produced several demos between 2002 and 2004.
After a break for inspiration during the summer of 2003, Jenn Winans was replaced with bassists Nelson Madston and the band set out to change the sound of the music somewhat by becoming more rock. Immediately after the change the band prepared to start gigging around the area again. After playing and placing first 2 years in a row at the Illinois State University’s Battle of the Bands competition the band was on its way to get its sound to be heard by anyone who would listen.
Split Indecision is set to start recording its first studio produced CD at Eclipse Studios in Normal Illinois on June 9th and 10th. This June 2004 Split Indecision will release its much anticipated four track SP CD that will be the base for the full length CD to be released by October 2004. The band creatively designs and maintains the web site and booking is taken care of via band members as well.
Big things are in store for Split Indecision in 2004. They will be playing with central Illinois bands Yosoya, Rebekahs Tape, Moral Dilemma, Sick-Day, PiT, Realign, Tripple Helix, Non Thought, and Nothing Fits. They will also beginning recording a full length cd. With the addition for forming alliances with other bands from the area, they plan to take it to the limit and never look back.
This band proves that no matter how bad things seem, music is there to bring a smile to the faces of the masses. Dreams are a dreamer’s reality and limitations are things you work on to surpass.
