I'll start from the beginning...Strikeout Semester formed around the summer of 2002as a four-peice rock band who just wanted to play music and to cure their boredom. As time went on, though, the band began to realize its potential as musicians. With the recording of their self titled e.p. at Studio Crash in Philadelphia, Strikeout began making a name for themselves in the PA and surrounding areas. After playing shows wherever they could, writing new material, and becoming more comfortable with each other the band decided it was time to head back into the studio to record a little more. The guys found themselves recording under the wisdom and guidence of Matthew Robnett (ex Days Away). With the help of Matt the band began to develop their style and began playing music that they felt comfortable with. It was around this time that a change in line up took place...After experimenting with some possible musicians to fill the spots they needed, the band found the perfect fillers. Mike Mullin took over the duties of guitar as Mike Funkhauser took his position of vocalist.The band still needed a musician to complete the ensemble and so Trey took over duties on bass. With a change in scenery also comes a change in the overall feel of Strikeout Semester. With a live show that is killer and new songs that will take your breath away Strikeout Semester is finally on their way as an established rock band and with the release of their newest full length album the boys have a whole new outlook on the music that they play. Look out for these guys in the future...
