Description:
Stellar Frequency is a talented and high energy “Sub-Alternative Rock band with a Metal Twist”. The group combines drums, electric/acoustic guitars, bass, and keyboards, samples with vocals/back-up vocals. Stellar Frequency recently won the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands 7 for the privilege to perform with the Van’s Warped Tour in Wichita Kansas 2003. The band was selected out of more than 2600 bands to be one out of four bands from a three State area to play with the tour this year. Stellar Frequency plays a Two-State area and is interested in broadening its fan base by playing new Venues whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Stellar Frequency began in early 2002 when four young men who were/are all music and art majors realized that they had mutual interests and goals in life. This union has formed a band with a direction and drive that is not normally seen at such a young age. The direction is that all the members of the band want their music to be heard and they are willing to dedicate their lives to accomplish this ambition.
Some of the influences on the band include but not limited to The Deftones, Incubus, Mudvayne, Tool, Metallica, A Perfect Circle, KMFDM, Gary Numan, Eno, Klaus Schultz and 311 just to name a few. This combination of style cultures is only a hint from where the diversity of musical styles may come from when the listener is at a Stellar Frequency concert.
The band has over 30 original songs and the number is growing at a constant pace. Each and every member of the band contributes to the writing and arrangement of sounds and textures for Stellar. The songs vary in style and delivery from “the hard of hards to the soft of softs”. These young men work hard at their craft and spend an average of 25 hours a week at practice exploring the realm of sound. They write, play, perform, digitally record, master, produce, and distribute all materials themselves (but would entertain/bring profit if a label was to take notice). This is underground in one of its purist forms.
