Description:
Since our culture has a rapidly-shrinking attention span, we’ve decided to make this a bullet-point bio. That way you can easily find the important stuff you need to know, without taking time away from your crucial online endeavors, like emailing all your friends to tell them about us. So, here it goes…
• Based in Atlanta, GA, Homeroom was formed in late 2001. We are a four-piece power pop band with Phil Stockman on lead guitar and vocals, Kenneth Gambill on guitar and vocals, Adam Youngblood on bass, and Tony Jenkins on drums.
• We have performed throughout the Southeast, both headlining and sharing the bill with artists like Everclear, Ben Kweller, and MC Paul Barman. We also took part in Music Midtown 2003, a three-day festival in Atlanta that featured bands like Zwan, Bob Dylan, Def Leppard, and Tony Bennett.
• Although it’s kind of lame to compare yourself with other bands, if you were looking to place our CD on your shelf by sound, we may be somewhere in between The Cars, The Pixies, Weezer, and Poison. Of course, if you were doing it alphabetically, we’d be somewhere between George Jones and Isaac Hayes. Oh, wait. You alphabetize by last name, huh? Damn…
• In late 2002, we released our debut CD, “It’s Not Me, It’s You,” a goofy, lo-fi celebration of everything from indie rock girls to “Fact’s Of Life” star Nancy McKeon. We are currently writing songs for its follow-up, tentatively titled, “I Fell in Love With A Girl From The Niagara Falls Area And All I Got Were These Lousy Songs.”
• We’re not trying to change the world. We’ll leave that to Bono. In fact, we’re not deep at all. We’re just trying to have a good time playing songs about girls and pop culture. Of course, if this doesn’t work out, we can always play Neil Diamond covers at the local Holiday Inn.
